Remove Search Option From Windows XP Start Menu

Advantages to remove search option from Windows XP start menu

-Nobody can search out confidential files.

-Search for specific extension video will be disable.

-Search for specific text file extension will be disable.

-Search for hidden files are disable.

Now you are eager to this article, no problem this tutorial will teach in detail to remove search option for Windows XP start menu. Let start our lesson.

STEP-1

Open the start menu by clicking on start menu button on the bottom bar of Windows XP as shown in Fig-1.

STEP-2

Open the run dialog box by clicking on run option in start menu as shown in Fig-2.

 STEP-3

Now you can see the Run Dialog Box on screen as shown in Fig-3

STEP-4

Type regedit in the white area of run dialog box  as shown in in Fig-4

after entering the text in run text box press enter or click on OK.

STEP-5

Registery editor will appears as shown in the Fig-5

STEP-6

Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER to expand the folder to view the sub folders as shown in in the Fig-6

STEP-7

Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Policies>Explorer as shown in the Fig-7

STEP-8

In the right pan select NoFind as shown in the Fig-8

STEP-9

Double click on NoFind option, box will appear with the value data of 0 which means search option is enabled to disable the option change the value O to 1 as shown in the Fig-9.

Click on ok , logoff and logon the system you will find no search option in the Start menu.
